The child has one intuitive aim: self development

Practical Science

Year 5 have been exploring air resistance in science through a hands-on investigation. They planned and conducted an experiment, carefully recorded their results, and analysed their findings to understand the effects of air resistance. The children have become increasingly confident in identifying controlled, independent, and dependent variables. As part of their experiment, both classes designed and tested parachutes of different sizes. This activity allowed them to take precise measurements using a variety of scientific equipment, developing their accuracy and ensuring reliability by taking repeat readings where necessary.
